Thank you for exploring my work and sticking around. Behind every color choice and kerning decision is a woman raised by the wild and driven by a stubborn need to make things meaningful. If you’re curious about the path that led me here, read on for a look at where it all began.
I grew up in a rural farming town in southern Alaska, surrounded by mountains and wildlife underneath the comforting watch of the northern lights. That environment taught me early on to respect the natural world and instilled a lifelong passion for conservation and protecting the places we call home. From visiting reindeer farms and riding moose to hiking above the clouds and living for the 24 hour summer days as a child, my upbringing sparked a deep sense of curiosity and a love for exploration, both in life and design.
Eager to see what else the world had to offer, I left Alaska for college and found myself living across several states, each one providing its own lessons. By meeting various walks of life, exploring different climates and terrains, and learning to not be afraid but fueled by the prospect of a fresh start, I quickly became a woman with a passion for new experiences. That passion led me to exploring different majors such as outdoor leadership, journalism and psychology, all giving me a unique perspective on the world, and a multitude of avenues to draw inspiration from in my creative work. When I discovered graphic design, it felt like the thread that tied everything together. Design gave me a way to combine my love of storytelling, visual expression, and independent thinking into one powerful medium.
Over time, I’ve built a creative practice grounded in versatility, intuition, and meaning. I was honored to receive the ArtPreneurship Award from California State University, Northridge, an acknowledgment of both creative potential and entrepreneurial drive. I hold this achievement close, knowing that perseverance and an openness to growth played a big part in getting me there. Of all the things I’ve learned over time, the most valuable is this: there is no such thing as failure. In life, as in design, every fall is simply the universe offering you another lesson in how to get back up. As I continue to grow in my career, I aim to collect more accolades and personal achievements, all while creating work that inspires, informs, and leaves a lasting impact.
